HOME INVASION/ASSAULT: On March 23 at approximately 9:05 p.m., officers responded to the area of Berry Road at Market Place for the report of a home invasion and assault that just occurred. Investigation showed Trayvon Richardson, 29 of White Plains, rammed his car into a female acquaintance’s vehicle, broke into her house, and assaulted her with a screw driver, causing severe facial injuries. He fled, but responding officers spotted his car and attempted to stop him. Richardson refused to pull over and subsequently side-swiped a van, which was also struck by an officer, and continued driving south on Route 5. His car came to a stop near Gardiner Road. Richardson was arrested and transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained during the home invasion. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that while Richardson was fleeing, he threw a knife out of his car window which struck the head of a man who was in another vehicle. No one was injured during the pursuit. Richardson was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, malicious destruction of property, and violating a protective order. FIREARM POSSESSION: On March 12, officers responded to the 2200 block of Community Drive in Waldorf for the report of a domestic assault with a handgun. An investigation revealed that the suspect, Clinard Ware, 48 of Waldorf, had assaulted a female acquaintance before brandishing a handgun. A loaded handgun was recovered on the scene, and Ware admitted to owning more guns. It was later learned that Ware is prohibited by law from having firearms. On March 23 at 7:45 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at Ware’s residence on Community Drive. Handguns, ammunition, and a variety of magazines were seized. Officer J. Pogar is investigating.
