UPDATE ON HOMICIDE ON GITTINGS COURT:
Charles County Sheriff’s detectives have identified the victim of the homicide that occurred on March 23 as Thomas Elijah Tibbs, 19, of Waldorf. Tibbs and an acquaintance – a 21-year-old male – were shot in the 2500 block of Gittings Court in Waldorf after a possible altercation with the suspect. They were transported to hospitals where Tibbs was pronounced deceased and the other victim was treated for an injury that was not life-threatening. Detectives are looking into the possibility the suspect fled in a black car. Investigators are working on leads and ask anyone with information to call Detective J. Austin at (301) 609-6504.
