Charles County investigations

BURGLARY: Sometime between Sept. 20 to Sept. 22, unknown suspect(s) broke into a building on Industrial Park Drive in White Plains and stole two large kerosene heaters and other equipment.  PFC D. Walker is investigating.

THEFTS FROM AUTOS: During the overnight hours of Sept. 21 to Sept. 22, unknown suspect(s) entered three unlocked cars in the 2200 block of Pinefield Road in Waldorf and stole a small amount of cash. Officer G.M. Cook is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Sept. 22 at 12:55 p.m., officers responded to a vacant townhouse in the 3600 block of Kempsford Field Place in Waldorf to assist the fire department who was checking on a possible fire inside the unit. When firefighters went into the townhouse, they discovered a fire burning in the fire place; however, no one was inside. Officers found evidence – to include a toothbrush and other personal items – inside the house, suggesting someone had been staying in the home. Officers also spoke with a neighbor who found an extension cord plugged into an electrical socket in his backyard which led to the vacant unit. Officer G.M. Cook is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Sept. 21 at 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the AT&T cell phone store at 3650 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a burglary. Investigation showed two suspects broke the front glass of the building, entered the store and stole numerous phones and accessories. Officers are working on leads.  Officer C. Gustafson is investigating.

BURGLARY: Sometime between Sept. 15 to Sept. 20, unknown suspect(s) broke into two unlocked sheds in the 4000 block of Doncaster Drive in Indian Head and stole a Cub Cadet riding mower, a chainsaw, tools and other items. Cpl R. Gilroy is investigating.

CITIZEN ROBBERY/ASSAULT: On Sept. 20 at 1 a.m., officers responded to Hard Times Café in the 1100 block of Smallwood Drive for an assault. The victim reported she and her friend left the business at about 1 a.m. and got into a minor argument with a man and a woman in the parking lot. During the argument, the man grabbed the victim’s purse and fled. The victim received minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital. Officer C. Chamblee is investigating.
