Charles County Sheriff OfficeBURGLARY: On June 20, a homeowner reported someone broke into his house in the 9500 block of Lomax Road in Faulkner and stole appliances and food. The house had been vacant for a few months. Officer S. Hooper is investigating.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE: On June 18 at 6:27 a.m., Cpl. J. Timko was patrolling the area of Berry Road near Crain Highway in Waldorf when he noticed a car abandoned in the roadway. A computer check revealed the car was stolen. Officer A. Duckett recalled seeing the car being driven moments earlier and provided a description of the driver. Sgt. H. Smith canvassed the area and observed the driver at a nearby shopping center. Investigation showed the driver, Francis Earl Carter, III, 29, of Oxon Hill, stole the car from a newspaper deliveryman who left the car running and unattended for a short period of time. The suspect left the car in the road because it ran out of gas. Carter was charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft over $1,000 and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

ROBBERY: On June 17 at 11 p.m., officers responded to the 6000 block of Red Squirrel Place in Waldorf for the report of a robbery. Investigation showed the victim was making a pizza delivery when two males approached, displayed a handgun and demanded money and the pizza. The victim complied and the suspects fled. Officer P. DeBoe is investigating.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: During the overnight hours of June 17, unknown suspect(s) jumped on the hoods of several parked cars in 4300 block of Indian Head Highway in Indian Head and damaged the vehicles. PFC E. Baker is investigating.

BURGLARY: On June 16 between 6:10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 3100 block of Heathcote Road in Waldorf and stole electronics. PFC. A. Duckett is investigating.

THEFT OF TIRES: On June 15 at 4:35 a.m., officers responded to the 11200 block of Heron Place in Waldorf for the report of a theft. Investigation showed unknown suspect(s) removed four tires and rims from a car. Officer C. Gustafson is investigating.
